The painting Eat Ah Food, in local Trinidad and Tobago parlance means to hustle or work tirelessly to survive. It shows the workings of a local Market and plays on the notion of how we do not believe that our lives are all interconnected and thus we need to help each other regardless of race or status. We (the customers, in colour) are only concerned about getting the best for ourselves without no clue or concern for what others (the vendors, in black and white). may be going through they fade out of focus. The fruit in this case is done in vibrant colour to show our focus ONLY on the things WE want and work so hard for, the materialistic part of this life.
