Born Lêda Campofiorito Saldanha da Gama, in Niteroi, State of Rio de Janeiro.
Lêda graduated in Plastic Arts at the National School of Fine Arts of Rio de Janeiro and at the "Ecole de Beaux Arts de Paris", France, and at the University of Brasilia.
Lêda specialised in Metal Engraving in Rio de Janeiro and Paris (Ateliê Friedlaender) for more than 3 years.
She created the first group to form engravers in Brasilia from 1975 to 1987. She has given courses on metal engraving in Peru, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Panama.
She created the first Museum of Art of Brasilia in 1985.
She founded the first Engravers Club of Brasilia in 1990.
Lêda has also been in charge of coordinating museums and the direction of the Museum of Art of Brasilia and was also designated to coordinate the second Plastic Arts Awards and the 12th National Salon of Plastic Arts (IBAC), in 1991.
Since 1995, Lêda Watson is entirely dedicated to her art.
She has had 44 individual exhibitions in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Teresopolis, Sao Luis, Curitiba and Niteroi, in Brazil, as well as in France, Spain, Peru, Honduras, Paraguay, U.S.A., Germany, Canada, Nicaragua and Ecuador. She has also participated in 51 collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad.
She received 6 awards in Exhibitions in Brazil and in France.
