‘New Hope’ is the second solo exhibition of mixed media artist Sarah Burrows. The artwork is made up of a combination of acrylics, inks and colour pencils. The exhibition explores the theme of overcoming difficult circumstances by finding renewed hope. It examines the things that brings joy in life while still facing and accepting reality and finding the strength to not just survive, but thrive.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, 5th August, 2017, 7:00pm-9:00pm at the newly relocated Akimbo Art Gallery located at 27 Prince Street Arima. The exhibition will continue until the 19th August. Daily hours are Mon-Fri 11:30am-5:00pm and Sat 11:00am-6:00pm.
Artist : Sarah Burrows
Sarah Burrows is a self-taught mixed media artist, specialising in colour pencils and more recently acrylics. Sarah began her artistic journey at a very young age, however when she was 15 years old she entered and won her first art competition. As a young adult, she continued to enter and win several art competitions; the most significant was the ‘On the wall, Off the wall’, Oval wall art completion. As a result, Sarah’s work was featured for almost two years on the Oval wall. Since then she has participated in several group exhibitions both locally and regionally. Sarah held her first solo exhibition in January 2012. She participates in seasonal local art and craft shows and her work is currently displayed in the Hotel Normandie. Sarah has also been featured in several online publications.
