Stacy Harnarayan
Stacy Harnarayan is a primarily self-taught artist who aims to create paintings that have an engaging, gracious quality.
She works primarily with oils on canvas and also enjoys doing charcoal and conté drawings. Her paint is applied both with palette knives and brushes to achieve the desired effect often resulting in a textured paint surface.
Her choice of subject matter varies but she has a preference for portraiture and figurative work. Her landscapes are attempts at revealing the subtle beauty that can be found in ordinary and humble surroundings. Still-life paintings tend to be spare and focused arrangements based on colour and light. Regardless of subject matter, her intent is always to capture a visual impression that will resonate with the viewer.
