Plein Air Picassos at Satchmo's

Report and  photos by Peter Sheppard

Sunday 4 May, 2008

A few of the member artists of The Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago met on Sunday evening over drinks at Satchmos on Ariapita Avenue to sketch and paint while listening to live Jazz. This exercise was created to motivate member artists to work towards the theme of the ASTT"s upcoming theme show.

Our members arrived just after 5pm and awaited Zander and his Jazz band to start playing. One they began, the sweet sound of jazz permeated the air and the artists started to work.

Many sketched or made note and Beverley came complete with easel and did a couple paintings. This is the result of how much music influences art.
