Last Saturday's field trip to the Savannah was refreshing for a small group of artists to be out of their respective studios and out in the open.
From as early as 6:45a.m. The artists set up their easels on the Eastern boundary of "The Hollows" taking advantage of the wonderful morning light as the sun came up from behind the Laventille Hills providing dramatic long shadows and wonderful contours of the hollows. This location has lots of opportunities for artists of all disciplines to sketch, paint and make notes for their work. Beverly Harries, Karen De Verteuil, Peter Sheppard, Harry Bryden and Mary Adams were the artists on location this past session.
It is the hope, that more interest can be generated to increase participation in these exercises. It is not just for professional artists, but is open to anyone who would like to get out in the open to paint or to sketch. We also welcome students to join us. All that is required is membership in the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
